Crossroads in the Vines
Seven times Grammy award winner Buddy Guy will feature at Blues in the Vines, one of two premium music festivals that are on their way to the spectacular Roche Estate in the Hunter Valley for Crossroads in the Vines. Joining Buddy Guy at Roche Estate on Saturday February 10 2018, will be Ian Moss, Diesel, Russell Morris and a swag of international and national superstar Blues acts.
George “Buddy” Guy is an American blues guitarist and singer. Born in 1936 in Lettsworth, Louisiana, he moved to Chicago in 1957. As an exponent of Chicago blues, he has influenced eminent guitarists including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck and John Mayer. In the 1960s, Guy played with Muddy Waters as a house guitarist at Chess Records and began a musical partnership with the harmonica player Junior Wells.
Buddy Guy was ranked 30th in Rolling Stone magazine’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”. His song “Stone Crazy” was ranked 78th in the Rolling Stone list of the “100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time”. Eric Clapton once described him as “the best guitar player alive”.
Country Music is returning to the Hunter on Saturday March 24 2018 with Crossroads Country in the Vines, featuring the biggest names in Country including the legendary Billy Ray Cyrus (USA), Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers, John Williamson, The McClymonts and many more.
