2013 heralds the 18th year of this much loved annual celebration of food, wine and opera, held at the historic Wyndham Estate Winery in the beautiful Hunter Valley. Passionate and romantic, opera touches the heart and stirs the emotions. Add the breathtaking surrounds of the superb vineyards, great food, fine wine and good company, and you have an experience not to be missed!
Joining Greta will be one of our best-known and beloved opera singers, David Hobson. David continues to shine as a leading tenor in both opera and music theatre. He is renowned as one of the most sought-after performers in the country. In 2013, we are thrilled to present for the first time one of Australia’s finest young singers, the ravishing soprano Greta Bradman. This year Greta will present her first solo recital at Westminster Abbey and St James Piccadilly. She will also be guest artist at the high profile England/Australia Ashes event being held at Lords, where Prince Phillip is the Patron.
Let your spirits soar as their stunning voices lead you on a journey through some of the most beautiful arias and duets ever written. Even the ‘opera-shy’ will be familiar with these unforgettable masterpieces, brought to vibrant life with a full orchestra under the stars, on the banks of the Hunter River.
To conduct proceedings we welcome back ABC Classic FM broadcaster, Limelight columnist and all-round musical maestro, Mr Guy Noble. Guy will entertain in his own inimitable way and conduct the highly regarded Metropolitan Orchestra, led by Sarah-Grace Williams.
Guests are invited to arrive early to savour the delights of a delicious food and wine fair. Then, as the sun sets slowly over the vines, take your seats in the magnificent open-air amphitheatre, glass of wine in hand, and relax into a night of musical magic beneath the stars….
