It was 1855 when the first vines were planted in the rich volcanic soil of the steep slopes of Ivanhoe Hill. Stretching across the foothills of the majestic Brokenback Mountain range, the Ivanhoe Estate is a patchwork quilt of vineyards and has become one of the most photographed and talked about vineyards in the Hunter Valley.

The 2011 Pressings is a full bodied Shiraz showing typical Hunter characters of spice, pepper and oak. Great length and structure from naturally derived tannins make it a memorable wine experience.
Ivanhoe Shiraz Pressings 2011 would fair well with Angus sirloin with horseradish crème fraiche or rustic venison pie with sautéed broccolini. Delicious drinking now or cellar for 3 to 8 years.
