Saturday 27 February 2016 will see Essential Theatre revisit the heart breaking tale, Romeo and Juliet set amongst the picturesque Calais Estate Vineyard in the Hunter Valley. This is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, and is by far one of the world’s greatest love stories.
Calais Estate is a family owned boutique winery that is famous for both its great wine and hospitality. The award winning winery boasts one of the largest collections of boutique wines in the Hunter Valley and is set on a beautiful vineyard estate.

Romeo and Juliet is a deeply moving play, and has been retold for centuries across the globe. The themes of forbidden love, family rivalry, revenge and fate still ripple through contemporary crowds.
Under the setting sun, Essential Theatre will transform Calais Estate into the feuding streets of Verona. You are invited to join this timeless tale and be whisked away by the innocent love of these star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.
